Affiliate marketing
I had heard the term, "affiliate marketing," but I really didn't get the concept. Here I was slaving away trying to start on online store, when, for a fraction of the effort I was putting in, I could be reaping tremendous rewards as an affiliate marketer. I had heard that affiliate marketing was the easiest way to get started online, but I didn't get the picture until I actually did it for myself. So just what is affiliate marketing? Here are a few of the benefits. * It costs nothing to get started * You get paid without having your own website * The average commission is 35 - 50% * All you need to do is drive traffic It's a simple idea. You market someone else's product and you get paid a commission for every sale that you make. You don't have to create a product, set up a web site, handle the purchasing transaction, or deal with returns. You just get people to the sales page for the product you are marketing. Another wonderful thing about affiliate marketing, is that the leads you send to the site are tracked electronically. Here's how it works. You sign up as an affiliate with someone who has a product you want to market, They give you what is called an affiliate link. It looks like a funny web address, with some words, numbers and a question mark. If you copy and paste that link into, say an email, and someone clicks on that link, it takes them to the web site of the product you are marketing. If that person buys the product, you get paid a commission. You can even buy a domain name and have it forward to your affiliate link. That way it looks like a regular web address, and when someone clicks on the link, or types that domain name into a web browser, it will automatically take them to the web site for the product you are marketing. A great place to find information product to market is at clickbank.com. You can search by topic and find one you want to sell. Clickbank will give you the appropriate affiliate link, and track all your sales, sending you a check every two weeks. It really is a great way to get up and running quickly, and get your feet wet with almost no out of pocket expense. It's a great example of a low risk venture that has the potential of a great return. |
